Plumbing Prices in Syston & Leicester

I believe plumbing prices should be clear and straightforward. My standard rate for general plumbing work is £50 per hour, with any parts or materials charged separately.

For many jobs, you can send me a few photos and a description of the work beforehand. This helps me understand what’s involved and, where possible, give you an idea of the likely cost before arranging a visit.

General Plumbing — £50 Per Hour

My standard rate for general plumbing work is £50 per hour, plus any parts or materials required.

This rate covers many everyday plumbing jobs, including leak repairs, tap repairs and replacements, toilet and cistern repairs, faulty valves, wastes, traps and other small plumbing jobs.

Where practical, I’m also happy to complete several smaller plumbing jobs during the same visit.

How Long Do Plumbing Jobs Take?

The time required depends on the job, accessibility and the condition of the existing plumbing.

Many straightforward plumbing repairs can be completed within the first hour, while jobs involving fault finding, difficult access, seized fittings or several repairs may take longer.

If you send me photos beforehand, I can often give you a better idea of what may be involved.

What Does the £50 Hourly Rate Cover?

The hourly rate covers my labour and time carrying out the plumbing work. Any replacement parts, fittings or other materials required are charged separately.

If additional work becomes apparent once the job has started, I’ll explain what I’ve found and discuss the options with you before carrying out significant additional work.

Parts & Materials

Parts and materials are charged separately from the hourly labour rate.

I can supply common plumbing parts where required, or in many cases I’m happy to fit suitable parts or products that you have purchased yourself.

If you’re planning to supply your own item, such as a tap, toilet component, appliance or water filter, feel free to send me the product details beforehand so I can check whether there are any obvious installation requirements.

Can You Give Me a Price Beforehand?

Yes. For many straightforward jobs, photos and a good description can help me understand what is required before visiting.

Send me your postcode, a brief description of the work and a few clear photos or a short video if possible. I can then let you know whether I can help and, where practical, give you an indication of the likely labour time or cost.

Some plumbing faults can only be properly assessed once the plumbing has been inspected in person.

Call-Out & Investigation Charges

For standard pre-arranged plumbing work, my normal hourly rate applies.

If I’m called out to investigate a fault where the cause is unknown, for example a shower with error codes or not working properly, the time spent diagnosing the problem forms part of the charge, even if the issue cannot be repaired during the initial visit.

Where possible, I’ll explain what I’ve found and discuss the available options before carrying out further work or fitting replacement parts.

Emergency & Urgent Plumbing

Urgent and emergency plumbing call-outs may be available depending on my location and availability.

Emergency or out-of-hours work may be charged differently from standard pre-arranged plumbing work. I’ll confirm the applicable charge before arranging the visit wherever possible.

If you have an active water leak, turn off the affected isolation valve or your main stop tap where safe and practical to do so, then get in touch.

Water Filter Installation Prices

Water filter installation prices vary depending on the type of system being installed.

Straightforward under-sink filters can usually be installed more quickly, while reverse osmosis systems may require additional work such as drilling the sink or worktop, connecting a waste line, modifying cupboards or arranging a suitable power supply.

Plumbing Price Examples

Small Plumbing Repairs

From £50 labour, depending on the time required, plus parts and materials.

Multiple Small Jobs

If you have several small plumbing jobs, I can often complete them during the same visit and charge based on the overall time required.

Larger Installations

Some installations and larger plumbing jobs may be quoted separately rather than charged purely by the hour.

Why I Use Hourly Pricing

For smaller plumbing repairs, hourly pricing is often the simplest and fairest approach because the exact condition of existing plumbing isn’t always known until work begins.

It also means that if you have several small plumbing jobs that need attention, I can often work through them during the same visit rather than pricing every small task separately.

Where a job is better suited to a fixed price, I’ll let you know before the work is arranged.
